Gavin has to go to 140

    Surely he has to go down. Physical appearances are not everything but he just looks like a light welterweight, honestly even a lightweight. Maybe he is short of world class in the pros and the lack of a dig is really hurting him.

    I know he says he is right at the weight, when you look at the size of Porter, Brook, Provodnikov, Algeri etc etc there is no way I can believe he is fighting at the right weight.

    Quit simply it is killing his career

    This is a guy who failed to make weight in the olympics when he was favourite to win gold.

    He's never going to have the extra bit of discipline that the top fighters have.

    He's probably still eating beans on toast

    As much as I HATE Mayweather (for various reasons), here is a guy who HAS HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS yet trains like the poorest man breathing! I have to respect him for that. And that's what Gavin needs - Discipline and Dedication.

    Gavin NEEDS to get to LWW. 7lbs? I'd lose that on a good toilet-break! :lol::lol:

    He needs to sort it out.

    I think discipline is something you're born with. You can train yourself to utilize what you have in terms of discipline but some people will have a ceiling. I don't think Gavin has enough innate discipline to do it. You only have to look at his career to see that. It's mentality as well though - he'll make every excuse as to why he didn't make weight at the olympics or lost this fight and blame everything but himself. That is his main weakness and the sole reason why he won't cut it at world level. He is his own worst enemy, and probably doesn't even realize it.

    At the end of the day, the buck will have to stop with you eventually.

    F*cking hell, relocate 50 miles away from your hometown and just come back to your hometown for training - nothing else. All that weekends on the town with the lads? Nonsense. Go to the states and get TOP sparring. I'm pretty sure he'd be welcomed with his amateur achievements. Get your weight down... So many things need sorting out.

    He could easily make light welter this might be the kick up the arse he needed to shed the extra seven pound

    I can't agree. He may well be not as talented a pro as he was in the amateur. Maybe he is at his level now. However, there have always been questions about his lifestyle and he has always looked a lightwelter to me. I can't believe there isn't 7 pounds he can drop off that frame and the part of moving down is that his punches will count more against smaller men.

    I want him to do better. Sadly it probably won't ever happen

    No not at all - I thought he was winning up until the sixth but was dropped in the sixth and it completely changed the dynamic of the fight. He lost the following 4 rounds.

    No robbery, Bundu won in my opinion. Lot's of close rounds, depended on what you liked but as I said I think Bundu did enough.

    Also, Gavin tasted canvas from a vicious body shot and done well to get up.
