    Anyone else agree?

He is a throwback to the days when fighters wanted fought each other to see who was the best.

Massive props for taking this fight - Unreal.

Well, he's been fighting as a pro for a really long time, so, it's hard to argue.

He is a true fighter, but by everyone downplaying Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev, it looks like he has picked an easy fight.

I think Mayweather has the better list of opponents fought and means beaten.

Hopkins certainly no lower than 4th among actives (and I myself would say 3rd).

I don't value wins for the victor as being greater for them due to certain circumstances that theoretically hinder the man whose legacy is in question (the victor). I think many do and that would be a difference. I value the win that Hopkins has over top 10 ranked Shumenov the same as if any fighter had fought that exact same fight and beaten Shu on that night. Some people will value Hopkins' win over Shumenov equal to as if Shu was a highly thought of consensus top 3 ranked lineal champion simply because of the odds against Hopkins because of his age... It is all opinion and all arguable. Like Mayweather and other polarizing boxers who were hated while actively fighting, I see Hopkins' legacy growing years after he has retired as peoples' emotions long drift away and new scholars of the sport simply analyze him through the film vault.

Hopkins win over Oscar is better than May's.

Hopkins win over Tito tops ANY win that May has.

    Hopkins is better than Mayman.

that said, respect to Floyd, there are no weaklings in his defences, they are all live top ten opponents.

My only disagreement is losing to Dawson 2X, bitc*ing out in the first one. Losing to Taylor 2X. He "mysteriously" became a reborn fighter in his 40s and I'm certain it's not alien technology.

Guerrero was a mandatory, and there were people on this board saying that he was ducking the ghost when reports surfaced that he might fight Alexander. They were saying that he didn't want to fight a southpaw. Even Duran picked Guerrero to win.

Ortiz was off FOTY, WBC 147 Champion. #3 WW. Southpaw, Good Speed, Good Power. That was a good fight when it was signed.
