Another foolish post, how shocking. It's only a Catchweight when two fighters request to weigh anything within the Middleweight limit in their own personal contracts. Anything from 154.1 to 160 is officially a Middleweight fight, a fighter can weigh anything he's most comfortable in within that limit. Both Leonard and Hagler didn't weigh exactly at the 160 limit when they fought, was that also an imaginary Catchweight in your pathetic mind?

Freddie just wants an advantage on his side considering Cotto's smaller size(his body didn't get used to the weight yet, especially when he never made the full 160 limit yet). Of course another reason he also wants the Catchweight is Golovkin's insane power and difficult fighting style. Golovkin pretty much has the style that Cotto has trouble against, a fighter with serious power who's overly aggressive and in your face all night. Add to that Golovkin's insane power and it's doom for Cotto.

I can't blame anyone for hating on this, but it was Golovkin who said he won't mind moving down for a big payday and Cotto clearly offers him the biggest payday of his entire career.

Because anything from 154.1 to 160 is still a Middleweight fight. Cotto isn't doing anything illegal or haven't been done before.

GGG can make 154 easy. What will be the excuse when he says fine lets do it?

If he can make it easy he wouldn't be fighting at Middleweight his entire career.

He is not a big middleweight at all. 154 would be a perfect weight class for his frame. He just has a gift of power that can hurt heavyweights.

How can he be drained at 155 yet too small for 168? Can't have it both ways.

Saying that as a fan of GGG.

People think GGG is huge, He is not a big guy. His legs are skinny. GGG is not that much bigger than Cotto.

If it was a perfect weight class for his frame his team and conditioner would know about it and send him to Jr. Middleweight rather than fighting at Middleweight his entire professional career. Even as an amateur he was 80% of the time a Middleweight.

He's still a natural Middleweight while Cotto only recently made the move up.

What are you talking about? The WBC just gave their blessing for their 154lb title (& 147lb title) to be contested at 147 this September.
