Maidana shits on Rios in every way, even record-wise he makes Rios look like a can.

I'm not trying to make Chino look like some legend killer. He's not. But he's surely a lot better than Rios. People keep saying **** like "Maidana And Rios are on the same level" "Maidana and Rios do the same things". They don't .

Ppv is supposed to be between two top fighters , not a top guy vs a good opponent. Cotto vs Floyd is ppv, Floyd vs Guerrero sure as hell ain't, neither is PAC vs rios. Promoters know were idiots and well buy anything, we've allowed them to feed us crap and its set a bad precedent. Unless the numbers continue to tank, we'll keep seeing PAC Algieri type fights on ppv.

    What? How so?
Rios was outclassed by Manny Pacquiao
Maidana was outclassed by Devon Alexander

Rios got a lucky decision against Abril
Maidana was lucky to beat one eyed, shot Eric Morales who, besides 3 bums I have never heard of, hadn't fought good comp in 3 years.

    Not that far apart.

Those that say they're on the same level are a bunch of trolling trash, nothing else. No one serious would compare the two together. Rios is nothing but a sandbag with zero skills.

Where is the logic to back it up? You could say Maidanas resume is better and I would not disagree...but to say they are worlds apart? F*ck no.

Agree with you BUT I can think of many things more expensive than the $10 I spend with friends to watch PPV. It's a reason to get together and talk smack.

its kind of hard to gauge whos better between the two it seems as though maidana is better and might have the better record but hes also been beat by a good few fighters and doesnt have any really signifigant wins, the top rank golden boy split makes it a bit hard to seperate them, it also depends on what rios does from now on

It's not about the money for me, its the principle. I wouldn't buy a chocolate bar for $1 if I knew the proceeds were going to terrorism. Extreme example but you get my point.

I get it. It's just entertainment to me. Some fans are more passionate about the the integrity of the sport and what it's becoming. The reality is, PPV fights are rarely ever FOTY candidates or live up to the hype. At least it keeps the sport relevant. Without PPV, HBO and SHO may not even do boxing. Where would boxing be then (at least in the USA)?

Maidana has wins over Broner, Ortiz, Lopez, Karass and Morales(ancient Morales but it was still competitive). Rios' career defining fight and victory is Alvarado, is there any other win worth mentioning?. In terms of ability, Rios is nothing but a predictable sandbag. Maidana on the other hand offers awkwardness, insane activity and a wild smothering style.

Rios is absolutely nothing compared to Maidana, resume-wise and ability-wise. He wasn't even supposed to be Pacquiao's come-back opponent, they were aiming for Alvarado but Alvarado had to undergo surgery so Rios was his replacement.
