It's been nearly a year since Arreola shattered his glass jaw and effectively ended his career, haven't heard anything about him since. Is he done?

He'll be back to serve as padding for some prospect's record.

I'd say he'd be a perfect Wilder opponent, but since he can crack a bit himself, there's always the possibility he'd shatter Wilder's glass jaw - so Wilder's handlers won't go anywhere near him.

True... To his credit Mitchell faced much better opponents than Wilder did, even on the way up. Wilder is one of the most coddled fighters in the sport today, if not THE most. We all know why.......

    Zak,

Two fights we need to see are:

    Wilder vs Mitchell

    Fury vs Price

would be great if they could put this on the same card and call it "Shattered Glass". Then have the 2 winners fight each other.

Mitchell is a good guy and I'd hate to see him become a stepping stone for other fighters. I just don't know where he could possibly go from here.
He isn't going to improve much and he can't improve his chin. Best to retire, be proud that he became a fighter with a moderately successful career, and get on with another line of work.

He still could be a moderately successful fighter.

He just needs to pick his fights better.

So long as he steers clear of guys with punch resistance or countering ability, he can win on the B level.

Still plenty of money to be made out there, and he could continue to get paydays vs the likes of Molina, Wilder, Grano etc.

Local fights and FNF type stuff.

I mean look at Derrick Rossy. Never a GREAT fighter, but he's still getting quality paydays with 9 losses. Same with Ding, and even guys like Sheppard....50K to try to knock Wilders block off next month.:think

I love this idea! In fact, I think it's worth a thread!
