Mayweather a better resume:lol: Pacquio has a way better resume then Mayweather so does BHOP, Look at Bhop's record, Tito, Pavlik, Tarver, Johnson, Wright, ODLH, Pascal, should have got the Taylor fight, His resume is outstanding add to that the fact most of his defeats were very close Calzaghe was a close fight, Taylor was also close fights. He's never ducked anyone. Mayweather's best win is Corrales FFS.

Mayweather has done no more in his career then Pryor. Pacquiao i would say has the best resume in boxing, Morales, Barrera, JMM, Cotto, ODLH, Ledwaba, Bradley, destroyed Hatton, Margarito. Bhop the second best resume and Cotto third.

the only tough fights Floyd has really had were during the 1st half of his career at lightweight. The wins over Corrales, the controversial win over castillo -- those were great opponents.
I won't knock him for fighting Maidana, since maidana really is the first live opponent he's had but Floyd is still clearly the favorite.
But In the last 10 or more years, since when has Floyd taken a fight where he isn't the clear favorite?

I agree with he had a lot of good wins at lightweight. I think the clear favorite is a bit harsh. It is hard to not be the favorite when you usually easily win. The cotto fight was a good solid win, Alvarez was 25 pounds heavier and many people thought he would win. Maidana was a tough fight that a lot of people that don't like Floyd accused him of losing. Rematching him he is cherry picking, if he doesn't he is ducking.
On the side note Hopkins has a great career and fought almost everyone.

Wish he would have cut weight and fought Hatton at 140. An fought Kosta Tszyu on his way up to oscar, but Mosley skipped over 140 as well. I think because at the time Oscar was the money. Sadly we didn't get to se Mosely vs Mayweather at 135

Anybody who was on ESB at the time knows that after Ortiz beat Berto in their war, this site was flooded with nothing but thread after thread about how Mayweather or Pacquiao would never dare risk facing Victor Ortiz at the moment. It was comical to see those same posters change their tune when Mayweather/Ortiz was signed and announced a month later.

Sept. 2011 Victor Ortiz was the consensus, not debated, #3 WW in the world only to Floyd and Pac.

Mosley last fought at 135 in 1999. He immediately moved up to 147.

Mayweather had just made the third defense of his 130 belt at that time and was still a year and a half before having his amazing 2001 with wins over Diego, C. Hernandez, and J. Chavez.

By the time Mayweather finished up his two fights with Jose Luis Castillo at 135, Mosley had already moved up to 154 to start 2003.

They never shared a division until Mosley dropped back down to WW in 2007. And technically not until the end of '07 because Floyd had moved up to 154 for Oscar in May of '07.

I never knew beating an overhyped berto makes one a great opponent in a resume.

You have got to be joking you cannot be serious? In the words of HW champ Larry Holmes Mayweather aint fit to carry Hopkins jockstrap.
When did Floyd last fight an opponent on a level playing field, Floyd not having every possible advantage??? I sure as Heck cannot remember it.
He wont fight out of his own backyard, Makes opponents wear pillows not bopxing gloves on their hands. Now he demands the referee stops Maidana from bullying him and roughing him up?? ROFLMAO:rofl:rofl:rofl
And you say Floyd has a better resume than Bernard???
Bernard is a fighter takes on all comers Floyd is just a very talented woman beating coward

*****s hijacked this thread. We all know Mayweather's resume is nowhere near Bhop or Pacquiao. Ortiz and Guerrero was being brought up as great opponents in Floyd's resume? LMAO!

Even Showtime use it in their promo's because Floyd hasn't ever had a legitimate KO win has he :rofl:rofl:rofl

Probably be disregarded as just being a Floyd fan but I'd take Mayweather's resume over Hop. If Hopkins fights any top 4/5 rated fighter in his division and there credited as such Mayweather fights a #2/3 rated opponent and an excuse is made about why they were chosen. Both have some historical accomplishments but Mayweather's biggest fights are vs bigger fighters Hopkins biggest wins are vs smaller fighters something Mayweather gets bashed for.

The only name missing in May's resume is Pac really, 5 division Champ, most champs beaten in history, tied for most Lineal title's while Hop is oldest champ in history 3 division Champ, possibly unifying at 50.

    X 2

Great points about rankings and size which will be dismissed by animated smiley face icons.

The last times Mayweather didn't fight a top 10 ranked fighter from his division (and usually #1 or top 5) were Marquez and Hatton, who were the consensus P4P #2 and P4P #6 at the times that they fought Floyd. So, to find an opponent he fought who wasn't on the widely accepted fantasy P4P list or a sure fire or arguable top 5 in the division, you'd have to go all the way back to 2005 against Sharmba.

Hopkins is only a two division champ, by the way. He skipped 168 entirely.

Don't worry about these folks. In 30 years when someone goes through these archives, they will be in awe of how hatred managed to blind so many of appreciating multiple contemporary greats from Hopkins to Marquez to Pacquiao to Mayweather to Wladimir, who are routinely mocked for (insert lame reason here; we all know it's because they're HOF level and above).
