A.Ward will remain #2 p4p until somebody accomplishes a feat better than what he has done in the last couple of years

    - Win the super 6 (Abraham/Kessler/Bika/Green/Froch)

    - Beat the best 175 pounder in Chad Daswson

    - Beat Rodriguez

As of right now, he's still #2 p4p and everyone knows it.

He will lose his P4P #2 spot for most when he reaches one year of inactivity.

    11/17/14 approaches quickly...

Well yeah, but I'm talking about active fighters. Ward is still active and he will probably fight b4 that day anyways.

Ward is retired,P4P list looks little bit different if we include all retired fighters.Ottke and Calzaghe could claim themselfs as kings of SMW.

What if Mayweather loses in September? Would that make Andre Ward #1 p4p? :think

Ward doesn't deserve to be #2. He hasn't done much recently and his best wins were from over 3 years ago...and they were against Froch, Abraham, Kessler...and recently a weight-drained Dawson who got KO'ed in a round by Stevenson.

    He's not a top 3 P4P fighter anymore.

Wherever you slot Carl Froch at, which it seems many put him in the ass end of the top 10, you must put Ward notably higher than.

In almost a 2 year time span he has beaten Edwin "No one cares" Rodriguez.

Funny thing about being a pound for pound fighter is that you actually have to get inside a ring to be one.

He beat a guy who couldn't even make weight for the biggest fight of his life FFS!!!!

    Seems a very desperate thread.
Abraham was on a run of 1-2 in his last 3 fights
Kessler was an unwell, double vision suffering fighter, who had been exposed by the old previous champ
Bika, see above, was rusty and already exposed
Green, is that a big win?
Froch was coming off a Mdec over a SMW journeyman coming into his fight with Ward and was only 2 fights past a loss
Dawson was a drained LHW with no SMW pedigree
What is Rodriguez best SMW win?

With all that Ward was the home fighter in all of those, and never once fought an undefeated fighter, he didnt run a S6 gauntlet like Froch who fought undefeated Dirrell, Kessler in Denmark, Abraham in a neutral country, Johnson away and Ward away and then straight after did what Ward didnt do and fought undefeated Bute.
Cant see what they hype was with the S6 really.
Ward is a good talented fighter, but hasnt yet beaten a top undefeated prime SMW and didnt seem to have interest in doing so against Bute.

P4P is a debateable thing and I struggle to understand how Ward would go above someone like Wlad Klitschko, but thats just an opinion.
Still good luck to him and it would be good to have him in action a bit more often.

Someone explain how Frochs resume since losing to Ward, keeps Ward highly rated.

    Since they fought

Ward fights Dawson with no SMW pedigree
Froch fights undefeated IBF SMW champ Bute

    Ward fights undefeated Rodriguez
Froch fights Mack, Kessler, undefeated Groves and Groves again.

The Froch/Ward fight was around two and a half years ago, so why do people base Ward on what Froch has done?
