    It was cheating, i agree. More so than Gavin spitting his out.

    Unless the punch physically knocks your gum shield out when you're knocked down, it should be a point off. If you just choose to spit it out to gain time then it should be a point off at the end of the round and you should have to fight to the end of the round without it in, so it doesn't buy you any time.

    Yes, those extra few seconds are crucial. It bought Gavin an extra 10 seconds or so and he barely made the count and looked very hurt when he got up. He intentionally spit it out so he could gain more time. This is blatant cheating and shouldn't be encouraged. I wonder if we will start seeing more of this. No doubt Gavin will do it again if he gets hurt because it worked so well for him there.

    Lol bunch of fairies in here. Its called experience and being clever. Ref had option to deduct point. Did not. Not Gavin's call.

    Put it this way, if it was Bundu who got dropped and spat his gumshield do you think he would have given him the same treatment?
