****ing hell, if Wilder wins this, I might be next in line.

 

Better than Sheppard, some how, lol.

 

In fairness it's an enormous improvement compared to who he was supposed to fight.

 

Its a stay busy fight until Stiverne but its pointless.

I always said that! Jason Gavern IS actually a huge step up for Wilder. I wrote it months before. Gavern, if not paid, can actually win this fight! He can knock Wilder out. Wilder did an chicken dance against Firta, Gavern is like Firta in beast mode.

 

From a television exec stand point. How do you not laugh at Wilder and his team when they come to you and say they want to put this fight on TV? He would be better off getting good sparring and staying in the gym then this.

 

Let's try to take a closer look at this and see just where Gavern fits in terms of his toughest opponent.

Wilder is 31-0 with 31 (KOs) so obviously 31 fights.

Who we know Gavern is better than for sure -

Wilder's first 23 opponents, I mean I don't think you can make an argument about that, lol

Wilder's 24th opponent was Kerston Manswell, you can come close to calling this a tie. I think we'd favor Gavern

From there we have McCreary, Price, Greer, Harrison, Liakovich, Firtha, Scott

I'd say Gavern is MAYBE better than 4 of the 7, though some of those are interchangable based on how past it some of those guys were when Wilder beat them. Soooooo at least 27 of his opponents, maybe 28, are a worse opponent than then the 25-16 Jason "The Sensation" Gavern.

Gavern just recently lost 7 fights in a row. His big claim to fame is taking a three-round decision over James Toney.

People like to say Wilder has fought comparable/better opposition to GGG. When's the last time GGG fought a guy with the abysmal resume of Gavern?

If Wilder wants a test, why not Tony Thompson? He'll fight anywhere, and is unlikely to take a bribe and take a dive.
