That's a good example. DSG beat a guy not well regarded at the time in a close fight.

He then went on to unify against Khan, beat the clear number 2 and is now looking to fight the other belt holder available.

If Jacobs follows that path I'd be very impressed.

What's the point of calling out people you know will never fight you? GGG is an HBO fighter, Cotto only fights major money fights. What would calling them out do, silence some message board critics?

Quillin is a makable fight, it is a step up fight, and it is a unification fight. Jacobs called out exactly the right person.

He'll drop the WBA kiddie title before he gives up both that title and the WBO title in a ruthless beatdown.

Jacobs was man enough to admit on an interview, that he needs another fight to get in there against someone like GGG. He recognizes GGG's power and ability and said that if he's going against him, that he'll get another fight before him.
I think that's great, at least one of the champions is willing to fight him.

Correct. But Cotto would never fight him anyway. Cotto may never fight at 160 again - and we cant blame him if he wont.

    Jacobs beats Quillin for me.

jacobs isnt even supposed to be champion...there is no reason at all to give ggg the super champ status...this status is supposed to be for unified champions or multi divison champions god damnit!!

He wouldn't really be unifying considering his title is phony. However, Quillin is a good fight for Jacobs. He has little shot at beating Golovkin and I doubt Cotto has any interest in fighting him. I don't see why the OP is so upset over this proposed matchup.

Quillen is a very appropriate fight for Jacobs at this point. When you factor in networks, promoters, Barclays, etc its actually a fight that makes a lot of sense. I hope it happens.
