Deontay Wilder vs Jason Gavern, how do you guys see this panning out?

Gavern's recent resume is horrible.

Just think of last night's abomination, and imagine it ending faster.

 

It's not if he get's KO'd, but in what round.
No watch for Wilder.

 

Wilders people chose Gavern for a reason....

 

Gavern fought Toney in a recent prizefighter tournament in a historic boxing hall called Yorke Hall in London that I also boxed at a few times. White journeyman (to be boxing at all is a great feat and to be a pro like him takes huge talent, dedication and bravery) who has limited skills at the top level. Nevertheless, he grew in confidence as he realised one of the most blessed fighters of all time was now a shadow. Toney no longer has pop in his punches and his balance is shot when punched or even when he moves. I know he loves boxing and needs it for various reasons, but I hope he does not damage himself too much more. I heard he wants to make 100 pro fights and then should become other boxer's Drew Bundini Brown!

 

It might be interesting to see Wilder, who is exciting and a breath of fresh air, carry Gavern into the later rounds in order to gain the experience in an actual paid fight. I'm sure he has done later rounds in the gym but not as yet during a match. He will be critiqued whatever the outcome so should just continue on his own learning path. Then at least he can tick off being past the eighth round!

 

Wasn't Jason Gavern on the cover of the ring magazine alongside Joe Mesi and Harrison at one point as they asked who the next HW champ would be?

Perhaps I've made this up in a weird dream , I can't quite remember!

 

Sugar - I think you might be right. How brutally our dreams can be dashed. Although he is fighting on 7 days notice, this might be his moment to throw caution to the wind and gather all his potential to fight the fight of his life....

 

And they made sure it was on short notice also for a reason.

 

It'd be equal parts great and awful if Gavern were to show up and deliver and awesome KO performance. Can you imagine the reaction of his team if he after all their super cautious match making their boy wonder got KO'd before getting a title shot.

That said I don't need anymore evidence that the HW division is dead so another contender receiving an upset loss doesn't appeal either.

 

what channel will Golden Boy Promotions being showing this epic clash with their star heavyweight???

Gavern is a typical trial horse who is constantly thrown in against up and comers. Hes fought a whos who of the division and been beaten by all of them. Somehow managed to get a draw against Jonathon Banks. Thats his best result.

Game trialhorse would be the adequate description.
