Mongoose actually has a good argument and uses names and facts to substantiate it. You on the other hand are just stating played out, inaccurate cliches based on your on personal bias.

Shavers was past his prime at the point he fought Holmes. This "golden" era you are referencing had dried up years before Holmes made it to the big time. Wlad was tested earlier, that is a fact. Holmes' golden era consisted of fighting the corpse of Ali, bums like Marvis Frazier and Leon spinks and the heavyweight jr division of unexperienced prospects with less than 15 fights.

In this "weak" era Wlad has fought in, he has surpassed Holmes in terms of resume, length of title reign and soon will also eclipse him for number of title defences.

    Which FACTS?

    Lol.

You consider getting KTFO THREE times as being "tested"?

    LOL...

Holmes KO'ed the bums he fought. Wlad, OTOH, got KO'ed by bums. Hence....

    Larry >>> Wlad

    BULL****.

Holmes defended the LINEAL title. WTF title has Wlad defended other than a PAPER championship?

There's no shame in getting outboxed by an ATG.

How old was Wlad when he got KTFO by three journeymen named Purrity, Sanders and Brewster?

If Larry was a light heavyweight, there would be no shame being outboxed by Spinks. Unfortunately, he was the HW world champion.

If Purity, Sanders and Brewster is the best thing you can come up with, you already know that there's something pretty wrong with that, especially considering that the current champion you are trying to bash, hasn't lost a fight for more than a decade.

Prime Larry can't outbox, outjab, nor outpunch prime Wladimir, no way. Plus he has all kinds of disadvantages against Klitschko. But apparently on this forum, guys like Johnson, Dempsey etc are still better than the present world champion, so it seems like everything is possible for some reason.

Holmes movement would give Wlad lots of trouble. Holmes can jab on the move use angles and has a good work rate. Wlad is not very good at angles. His accuracy goes way down when faced with defensive movement. He is never confident enough to throw big punches unless he has a stationary target. I see Wlad getting very flustered and crumbling. Holmes by KO.

Wait, wait, didn't Wlad TKO Brewster as he sat sadly on his stool?
And for good reason, Brewster has kids.
If Wlad were black you would you would have had the opposite view -
    he'd be the greatest

Holmes was 48-0 and had defended his title 20 times leading up to the Spinks fight. Wlad, OTOH got KTFO'ed THREE times by JOURNEYMEN and spent the greater part of his career defending a PAPER title - when he wasn't getting KTFO by JOURNEYMEN.

    Holmes >>> Wlad

It's obvious that, on Planet Klitschko, the first Wlad Brewster fight didn't happen.

Answer me this, Klittard; Why did your hero wait until Brewster was coming off of a 1.5 year layoff and EYE SURGERY before rematching him?

Or do people not ever need EYE SURGERY on Planet Klitschko?

Just for a second I've tricked myself that the constructive argument is may coming. :)
He probably thought that he has absolutely no chance against healthy Brewster. It could be that.

Wlad fans need to realize this simple truth. Wlad is a very good fighter, an ATG fighter. But every fighter that has been able to land any form of consistent shots on Wlad has beaten him. He gets by in the current era because the division has been at a low for nearly a decade, and the guys he's facing simply don't have the tools to land said shots. It also helps matters that Wlad is able to get away with a ridiculous amount of fouling and clinching in most of his fights. Holmes not only has the tools to land, but he also possesses a very good chin. He takes Wlad out sometime in the middle rounds.
