Thats idealistic imo. [When Golovkin becomes the A side (which I believe he will) I'm sure he'll be picking fights based on their risk/reward ratio and who could blame him. Thats just the way its always been.

BTW how can you defend Mayweather's shameless opponent selection while criticizing Cotto.

I don't see how cotto fighting golovkin (who has done as much as anyone can ask of him - he fights in the US, with network backing, fighting anyone who will fight him, and has gained a lot of notoriety because of it) can be a negative for the sport in any way, no matter how idealistic it is

you can't give a pass to the guy who has "earned his stripes" and sits in the top spot just because he thinks he will get his ass kicked by someone who doesn't have the same leverage to make big fights

I like both Cotto and GGG, and think Cotto became THE MAN @ 160, when he beat Martinez, and GGG is first in line to become THE MAN, however in no way to I want to see this fight happen.

Cotto at this stage of his career should be looking for an escape route, one big fight, likely in the shape of a fight with Canelo.

His escape route shouldn't be on the stretcher against Golovkin.

But going off the title, Ward fans call GGG a coward, but give Ward a pass for not going for fights with Kovalev and Stevenson- works both ways.

Ward's got a fight with Goosen in December. He won't fight again in 2014. If he lose the lawsuit, he can probably kiss 2015 goodbye too.

Ward is slowing destroying his boxing career.

 

Stevenson wants to fight ward asap, but ward will not respond to his call outs.......................sob ward is a coward, will only fight in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc.

Stevenson vs. Ward would be a big fight, the best fight out there for ward, but ward is afraid. Stevenson said he would go down to 168 to fight ward, but ward is still running.
