Khan didn't beat him the second time out. Kindelan won the first 2 fights. The third fight was basically an exhibition match in UK when Kindelan was retired.

It's hard to assume how well would he have done, but the lightweight world champion seems like a natural estimate.

Green as "faurk"?, didn't he win the Silver Olympic medal being "green as faurk"?. Kindelan beat him twice when it mattered and lost the third time in an exhibition 100% money fight in England.

How would Kindelan have done if he went pro?

He would have been knocked the **** out like all the other Cubans that have defected and went pro with glass jaws, glass knees, or glass whatever.

Hmm. It's a difficult one history shows being a talented amateur doesn't guarantee success in the pros.

You'd imagine he'd have been a world title holder though.

The Khan exhibition 'win' in the UK means nothing by the way.

I believe Kindelan was paid to lose that exhibition. It was essentially put in place for Khan to avenge his loss on national television after the olympics hype. It was a fight targeted at people who know nothing about boxing, they probably didn't even know it was an amateur fight.

What other single amateur fight has it's own show? It was a joke. It was done for Khan to avenge a loss on national TV, leading into his TV deal when he turned pro. It was all marketing and nothing to do with boxing.

I can't believe that some people are actually counting an exhibition match as something serious, especially considering that Kindelan was retired from boxing. It's basically like counting Federer vs. Sampras exhibitions as real matches. Makes no sense.

Like someone already mentioned, the whole thing was organized to promote Khan's upcoming professional career. It was a single amateur exhibition, not a part of any official competition or tournament, but seems like certain people for some reason only remember that "match" if Mario Kindelan is mentioned. Those people likely barely know a thing about Olympic/amateur boxing.

Kindelan is one of the best boxers of the last 25 years. We can't know for a fact how would he do if he turned pro, because not only the rules are different, but the whole system and concept of the sport, and that includes a lot of politics as well. I think that winning a world title after about 15 fights of valuable experience would be the right estimate.
