    Taking your last point about Ali being an old 34. True. That illustrates how much Manilla took out of him. Prior to that bout,he was a YOUNG 33.

    exactly ali wasn't prime in 76 not even close, norton wouldn't beat the ali of the 60's. why? because norton was virtually helpless when ali was on his toes. ali would be on his toes all night. it is true norton's style troubled ali but the same can be said vice versa.

    Very concise appraisal. Both men's attributes gave each other problems in all three of their fights. Their second bout is one of my favourite non title heavyweight fights of the seventies.
