Brook is severely underrated here. He's a very durable and resilient fighter, he's NOT going to lay down and even if he's hurt or dropped expect him to get up and fight back.

 

Come on man. Club fighter Chris Algerie just whooped on psycho killer Provogdnikov. People have short memories. These network hype jobs seem invincible because the networks build them that way. But reality is that most of them aren't that much better then the ESPN level guys that most of them used to be. Recognize the pattern. Brook is not going to get down in 2. That doesn't happen very often to undefeated skilled young fighters....George Groves v Carl Froch 1? Christ people see things but they learn and remember nothing.

to me porter is nothing but a volume puncher, a boring frantic worker that goes in there and grinds decisions ala tim bradley. the ko of malinaggi was a 1 time thing. i much prefer the style of a fighter like kell. and come on he calls himself "showtime" feck off already more like "sleeptime" man, would like to see someone shutting him up

but unfortunately i see porter simply outworking kell for the decision in a possibly boring lackluster fight.

 

i kind of agree, but shawn porter was a top amateur so he has some serious pedigree... he's not a provodnikov.....

but i honestly think it's brook's fight to lose, i've always thought that.... what i mean by that is, if brook starts to fatigue like he did against jones in their first fight....

when kell starts to slow down after the 6th round, he starts getting lazy using his feet less and trying to pull straight back which makes him vulnerable.... if he's primed for 12 rounds... uses his legs, he has all the tools to school porter.

i think it would be a mistake for kell to look for a ko.... i think he should focus on just winning each round... he has a tendency to start forcing the ko, and that's when he gets caught like against schenchencko...

 

Nah I didn't mind it when he got caught against Schenchencko. Unless you're Money having to take one to give one just goes with the territory with top level boxing. The things that I saw that he did really well in that round was that he cut the ring off beautifully (with lateral movement and everything - textbook stuff). Also when he did get caught he didn't loose his cool he stayed focused on his objective and got a massive stoppage later that round. At world level you got to be able impose your will on people no matter what. When I saw Lamount Peterson do the same thing against Victor Kayo in the twelfth round of their eliminator fight (before the Khan fight) I new that he had changed from a good also ran contender to a force to be reckoned with. I'm not saying I saw all of the same things in the Brook Schenchencko fight but I didn't see too much I didn't like.

As for the first Carson Jones fight ya he got tagged a lot but he was poorly trained and gassed as ****. Against other contender level guys like Hatton and N'Dou, as well as the second Carson Jones fight, he didn't show a poor defense. So I don't read quite as much into that fight as some others might.

p.s. I thought that "he's gettin' knocked out" and the "chocolate brownie right hand" lines where freaking awesome. Just with his accent and the bravado it was shades of the Prince. Its good to see another top fighter from the Ingle gym back in America and talking smack! lol
