All he did was throw wild punches and come in with his head.Brook landed the cleaner more effective shots by far.Hell at times Porter looked like he just started boxing with all his flailing:bbb

Exactly. AS a neutral I gave porter 4 rounds. He just did not land anything of significance. And he was unable to hurt his opponent at any stage where it looked like on 2 occassions he was slightly hurt himself. Good effort from him and good heart though.

Maybe because all Brook did was hold on the inside and not throw any punches?

TBF they both fought like **** IMO. I don't have a problem with the result but Brook didn't win 9 rounds in the fight.

Sloppy or not Porter pushed the fight and landed more power shots. Close fight though

Sure he pushed the fight by jumping inside head first but Brook landed the much cleaner shots.Porter ever hear of jab your way in?Set traps? All Porter did was swing wide and towards the back of the head.On 2 occasions Brook shook Porter. How many times Porter shake Brook?

I thought it was funny when the announcers were saying basically Brook is controlling the fight because he wisely clinches Porter to stop him, and saying he was winning because of it.. Nowhere near that statement did anybody mention him throwing punches or even his counters LOL.
That's it in a nutshell. The holding was sickening. I know Porter isn't easy to fight and he's a rough fighter so I can understand some holding, but damn what a crap fight. Porter couldn't land anything big because A) being the shorter/ prob less skilled man it was hard for him to land a bomb from the outside and B) on the inside Brook clinched him immediately.
Brook didn't deserve the win, he especially didn't deserve to win the belt based on that peice of crap performance. Porter didn't get much done either but he was the one throwing more punches, trying to make it a fight, constantly walking Brook down (even if Brook landed the occasional nice counter). A draw would of been acceptable to me

This fight kind of reminded me of the Mayweather/Maidana fight. You had one guy coming forward and throwing a lot of punches(many landing to the back of the head), and you had another doing better defensively and landing the better shots. Some people prefer the aggression, others prefer the clean, effective punching. Incidentally, the scorecards in both fights where identical.

I had Brook clearly winning the fight, and was a bit confused by the Showtime commentating myself. I kind of wish Paulie was there tonight, as I believe he would have set the others straight on what was actually happening.
