Hard to say. Unknowns are usually unknown for a reason. Typically they cant quite make it to that next level despite having some really great performances. Maybe someone like a Burley. He isnt unknown to most here but hes he wasnt really much of a star in his day and today hes unknown to most anyone, even boxing fans, who arent fairly hardcore. Guys like that would have to up there.

Outside of this forum, few would likely know who Harry Wills was.

These guys might not meet everyone's criteria of great. But I think each was pretty great in one form or another and there under the radar as far as I can tell.

There was a guy down in the Gym a few years ago who was brilliant but nobody knew him.
Maybe he was Alexei Lezin ?

Super Flyweight Samson Dutch Boy Gym - I'm not making that name up but autocorrect thinks I am :)

    Born Saengmuangnoi Lukchapormasak in Thailand.

Not a bad fighter at all really, hard to argue with his won loss record and he ruled the WFB version of the division from 1994 to 2002 with 38 title defences.
