Brooks showed some skills but I agree that he's not an exciting fighter to watch. I'm definitely not in a hurry to see him again.
How many of you predicted Porter was going to KO Brook without ever watching him fight? You couldn't make it more obvious that you've never watched any of his other fights. He's usually very exciting, Saturday night was a style clash. And no, I'm not British.
No bias from me either way, but theres no denying that brook clinched and clinched all night, no warning from the ref. Doesn't matter who you support, just watch the tape its fact. porter was far from innocent, he was wild and dangerous with the head and the styles clashed badly but at least he tried to work up close. Brook clinched, mauled, wrestled and headlocked at every opportunity. Brook seems like a nice fella and will be a classy champion but personally I don't like to see boxing like that, and I believe that you shouldn't be able take a champions title using jab and grab tactics.
Except he didn't jab and grab once during the whole fight. He only clinched when Shawn came charging in like a billygoat
What the **** is it with these guys who can't realise that the fight looked how it did because of Porters style. Brook fought how he had to to get that particular job done. You can't say that he's a boring fighter based just on that fight.
So what is he supposed to do to negate Porter's inside game? Brook would get slaughtered on the inside.
Fighters people think are boring are typically the smart fighters that are the top in their division. They're considered boring because it isn't competitive.
