ESPN2 FNF: Austin Trout vs. Daniel Dawson RBR

Round 1

Trout is flipping the right jab up, backhanded, from a curl around his abdomen. Trout is winking at Dawson, squinting a bit - may have sweat or Vaseline or something dripping into his eye. High right jabs, singles and doubles, followed by slicing lefts on the body as Trout makes short leaps in and out in a crab stance. Dawson is putting in 1-2s and missing as Trout bends deeply over to his left, face between his knees. Trout comes up with a big right hook, partially blocked but clearing the way for a left uppercut that rocks Dawson back. Dawson recovers and circles at mid-range, watching cautiously.

Trout vs. LoPorto was like Mayweather vs. Gatti, or Jones vs. Pazienza...


Dawson was also stopped by Dzinziruk, another southpaw of similar talent level but lighter punching than Austin Trout.

 

Atlas just read my post!! Literally a minute later he starts harping about how Dawson's last KO loss was to a southpaw!

Round 2

Trout is walking Dawson down with right jabs and left crosses, not over-committing, throwing just a couple at a time. Trout is taking big steps in with his right foot, brushing the canvas as he jabs and then reeling in to stand outside and dare Dawson to act. He doesn't, just reaches in with some left jabs and spins away from Trout's counter southpaw 1-2 as it scrapes his chest.
