good post. I would buy it for Lomachenko alone. Too bad Pac s on the card and I promised myself to never fight a single ppv with him on it (since 2009)
I must ask why you would have such a rule? Pacquiao isn't exactly the most boring fighter ever. You've missed some good fights (undercard included)!
good this.. i just hope that Mr.Bob put at least one more from the featherweight. There's a lot to make from that weight class
So, I looked up Shiming's opponent via boxrec and holy hell that is one of the more padded records out there. Seemingly half of his 30ish opponents were debuting fighters whom I did not take the time to follow up on, admittedly. His best opponent would seem to have been a 9-0 guy where the fight went to a second round TD yet the guy HAD put him down in the first round. Next best opponent is like a 25-5-1 opponent that, I believe, he won an MD over. I have only been able to catch the first two Zou Shiming fights and have heard he really looked much improved in his last outing but even the debutante Zou Shiming should be able to defeat a guy with a record like this. Like I said - I think this undercard purposely looks 'mysteriously intriguing' by where all three bouts are supposed to look like fights between fighters of totally 'unknown' qualities yet really I think that all three fights are, in essence, mere showcase bouts for Lomachenko, Magdaleno and Shiming respectively. I would pass and just watch the main event when available (and spoiler free - as I DO expect this fight to 've interesting). I also do not feel that the Mayweather-Maidana II undercard is entirely PPV worthy though it is better than this show top to bottom. Mickey Bey vs Miguel Vasquez is a legit title match but IS a Miguel Vasquez fight so it is guaranteed to not be a fun fight - especially against a 'boxer' in Bey. John Molina vs Humberto Soto has interesting crossroads implications and opposite of the other fight this is guaranteed to be a tremendous war. Leo Santa Cruz is tremendously exciting but his opponent is no good. Leo Santa Cruz runs over far better fighters. This is a two round, one sided stoppage at best. Alfredo Angelo vs James De La Rosa is okay and has a chance to either be a similar quick Angulo destruction or a fun for as long as it lasts fight. Mayweather-Maidana promises to be another fun fight, a shocking upset of the decade or a Mayweather performance - any of which will be pleasing to the eye. Good PPV, just barely PPV worthy because the main event is legit, two other fights hold significance and one of those promises to be AMAZING. Of the other bouts you at least have action fighters that knock guys out in them even if they should be huge favorites.
Who cares if you think it shouldn't be ppv pac only fights on ppv and get his 20 mill plus regardless.........
I do not dispute this and in fact am one of the few that understand that some guys just transcend even regular network broadcasting and do not complain that their every fight is on PPV. I simply have reviewed the show as a whole and deduced that it is likely not a PPV worth buying when you get the main event for free on HBO a week later as well as options for streams and downloads well in advance.
Because as long as he sells out stadiums and makes 1mil ppv buys he will never fight mayweather. Same reason why I don't buy mayweather ppv cards, from the exact same date. I still watch them, in hd quality, 6 hours after the fight I have my fiance download them for me so I don't accidentally see the result.
Because, whats the point in putting another filipinos on the card from a financial standpoint. Anyone who is going to tune in to watch Donaire will already be tuning in to watch Pacquiao. So whats the point?
As for the undercard Vasquez-Magdaleno looks interesting and is a toss up. Loma should take care of his guy inside 3-4 rounds. Shiming is fighting a guy with a padded record, but Shiming has simply not looked that good since he stepped up to pro, so hard to tell. I think Shiming should still take it
I feel like TR is shoving Shiming and Lomachenko down our throats. I don't like Shiming but Loma's a good fighter. This card has very little appeal.
