Which were the biggest comebacks in boxing history. Like a fighter gets dominated badly throughout a fight, maybe knocked down once or twice, and still manages to win the fight in the end. For example Jorge Castro knocking out John David Jackson. Jorge Castro was down 8 rounds to 0, had zero momentum, and was busted up bleeding when he kayoed Jackson in the midst of getting pummeled.
That was one of my favourite comebacks. Castro was one seriously hard man and he'd taken a real steady pounding from Jackson up until he pulled it out of the fire. I remember reading that Castro barely ever trained properly, sometimes not at all, but he had a great chin on him and a big heart. I used to have copy of the British broadcast of that fight back in the day. I think it was Reg Gutteridge who did the commentary. I remember him saying that it was surely all over after Jackson caught him with that big left hand that sent him staggering backwards - the classic commentator's curse. lol. Some of Gatti's comebacks were great too.
Julian Jackson v Herol Graham. Graham was doing a very nice job of boxing Jackson before The Hawk scored possibly the greatest ko ever.
Moore vs Durelle - dropped 4 times, 3 times in the first round yet came back to stop Durelle Jackson vs Graham - dominated, unable to see and on the verge of being stopped, one of the most memorable KO's ever Tompson vs Rothmann - my personal favourite, past his best, being battered on the ropes, on the verge of being stopped, yet pulls out a trademark KO from behind, brutal shot, Rothmann out cold before he hit the canvas Williams vs Potter - Williams has a dislocated right arm and is losing the fight yet with one arm pulls out the KO, remarkable and unique comeback
