'The King of England' Carl Froch is one of the most HOF worthy fighters in boxing

When I hear people arguing against Froch getting in the Hall Of Fame, the only thing I hear is that his resume is not quite there yet. Well here is a news flash- it's not called the Hall of Resumes, it called the Hall of Fame.

Sure resumes play a decent part in it but it's not the be all and end all (and if it was then ref's, ring announcers, promoter, etc wouldn't get in). Take a guy like Chad Dawson. He's got a decent resume but he stands f-all chance of getting in the Hall of Fame. All he will really be remembered for is 6 boring fights with old American fighters than are totally forgettable, getting embarrassed by two Candians, likely to be the only man Ward ever KO's in a world title fight, a glass chin and failing to live up to the lofty expectations of him. He's also dull as dish water couldn't draw flies to ****.

Meanwhile, lets have a look at some of the things Carl 'The Cobra' Froch will be remembered for:

- 3 World titles wins (thus far)
- Finishing runner up in the fans dream tournament The Super 6.
- Fighting all over the world.
- Several thrilling battles
- Epic rivalry with Kessler (which may not be finished yet)
- Epic rivalry with Groves both in and out of the ring
- Selling out 80,000 seater Wembley in a huge fight which he won, breaking several records doing so.
- Giving fans fights they want to see in an era when so few fighters do for various reasons.
- Winning a number of fights as the betting underdog or close to 50/50 and exceeding all expectations of his talent levels entering many pound for pound lists.

So I think it's safe to say Froch is HoF worthy, even more so if he lands a big trans Atlantic PPV fight, with his rabid and adoring fanbase following him across to the Las Vegas strip. :deal

If you bothered to read the OP you'll see that I said resumes do matter but are not the be all and end all. The fighters you brought up will be remembered more in a negative way than a positive- and being that they are voted in by the Boxing Writers Association of America who must make a case for them.

If resumes was all that mattered why the hell is Gatti in it?

Here is another one- why is Sly Stallone in it?

Whether Chad Dawson resumes above Carl Froch or not the fact of the matter is he ain't getting in and Froch is. The HoF is just a gloried popularity contest and unfortunatley your haterad of British fighters isn't going to change that. It is what it is.

 

Plus let's not forget that Dawson glass proved weaker than Ward's feathers, and he quit somewhat hilariously.
