Is it possible to make top 3 p4p without having beaten a single p4p ranked fighter?

I voted no because i didn't read carefully, but i meant yes.

1- p4p is a mythical, unscientific list.

2- you can beat all the best of your division, but if they are low hyped/known/ kept in high regard for biased reasons, it is well possible no one of them are on the p4p list.

Ward is up there, so Wladimir Klitchsko - maybe not top 3 but top 5 on a lot of peoples P4P lists

 

the fact that someone would put klitschko on a p4p list shows the true lack of understanding when it comes to the term p4p.

if all things were equal....size, weight, etc...klitschkos are less than ordinary and would be beat by several fighters. they DO NOT belong on any p4p lists....but it is mythical so have at it.

 

Well Ward was most people's number 2 before beating Dawson (who was on a few pound for pound list but not many), Froch got or more P4P lists after the Ward fight and wasn't really on any before hand and Kessler wasn't on any, so short answer is yes.

Is it possible to be called an 'all time great; without doing it (probably more than once)- no.

 

Donaire managed to according to Max Kellerman and his fans.

 

Darchinyan and Montiel was ranked pound for pound when Donaire iced them.

Nishioka also was starting to appear on a few lists.

 

Not in the last 2 years. He had 2 fights, one against a drained fighter and the other, against a fighter no one cares about.
