What's Up with Gary Russell Jr.?????????

He's licking his wounds. I think he will come back. I always said that the jump from 24 cans to a double olympic champion was waaaay to steep.

 

And yet there are many posters on ere who say the amateurs don't mean ****, while given pros credit for beating up hobos

 

Funny, the Loma haters said it would not be and that Loma was the one stepping up to GRJ. LOLZ.

 

Lomachenko/Russell was a great scrap. I'd pay to watch them fight again, some time down the line - if Russell can pick himself up and rebuild (which I think he can and will).

Loma looked very strong, indeed. Credit to Russell, though - He did show grit - particularly in those championship rounds.

 

He can come again, he's a good fighter. It's a shame his management fed him to the dogs before increasing his competition accordingly.

 

I actually like Russell a lot more after that fight, Russell was thrown in with a very special kind of fighter, I don't take anything away from him, and he still has an amazing skill set.

 

He did reasonably well considering his jump in competition was pretty stratospheric, Loma may be the best 126lber around and Russell showed enough to suggest he can come back and have a good future in the sport still. He should have learned from the defeat

Probably won't fight again until 2015, because of his "advisor"

 

I don't like saying he's done, he can easily come back from this, I mean I think this fight was a good learning experience for him, he just needs to recognize what can and needs to be improved, he has the talent to make the adjustments and still be very successful. That's my opinion anyway.

 

I hope we see him again soon. Don't let the 3 fights fool you. Lomachenko is no joke. He's good. It's not like Gary lost to a can.
