Joe Gallagher, whats your opinion of him?

Best trainer in the country.

Does like the sound of his own voice, but his heart is in the right place. He is just trying his hardest to promote each and every one of his boys.

Compared to the US trainers he doesn't open his mouth much at all, but in Britain it's a little bit different which is why he comes across badly to some imo.

 

Yeah would agree that he seems to like the sound of his own voice, but then he who shouts loudest gets heard... like it's been said, at the end of the day he's backing his boys. You can't argue with the success he's enjoying.

Seem's like a spoilt kid-come-tosspot most of the time. ANY chance of a big fight happening and he shoots it down in flames when mentioned.

I think the general consensus is that he would get you in great condition, but he isn't the greatest Boxing trainer...

 

Didn't his gym go something daft like 49-0? Pretty sure it was the Macklin/Sturm fight that would have made it the big five zero.

I do agree that a lot of his fighters get in top shape but do seem to have very similar traits... which does beg the question about the technical side of things.

- He was very unlucky with Macklin not getting the decision over Sturm.
- Crolla over the past 2 or so years has improved leaps and bounds, has been involved in big domestic dust ups and is now looking at world level.
- He's taken Quigg to world level.
- The 4 Smith brothers are all doing well in the there own right. British champions, soon to be world title challengers and Callum in particular is progressing at some rate.

 

Lack of head movement. That's the main one.

 

Lack of a plan b too it seems in a lot of fights

 

To be honest I've not liked what I've seen of Joe Gallagher and I don't like what I've heard of him either. There's been too many respectable people in boxing say bad things about him for my liking!
I remember Barry McGuigan never retaliating after Joe Gallagher insulted him on Ringside. Barry showed his class and never sunk to Gallaghers level!

What has Billy achieved other than eating himself to death after Ricky left?

Laughable to suggest Billy is a better trainer.

 

Asides your point , all have produced World Champions , Something Joe hasnt Managed yet and all of them let there fighters do the talking not the way Joe is like Me Me Me Me a fame hungry wanabee , Joe is not well liked within the sport nor Manchester , he has a rep as a 2 faced back stabbing C*NT
