Maidana ruined Ortiz took his soul & heart. Lopez ended his career.

Broner will follow and so might Guerrero after another boxing lesson from Khan in December

Ortiz is a mental midget and a bum…glad he's out of the sport.

Berto fights his ass off each time out…he's just limited unfortunately.

Neither guy could have ever been elite.

Ortiz got that fire back in his belly during the war with Berto.
Ortiz went to war with Maidana but Maidana kept digging and Ortiz folded.

Similar thing happened with Peterson. Ortiz almost took him apart but Peterson would not quit and Ortiz started faulting. Luckily Peterson is not a big puncher and Ortiz finished the fight without too much trouble. (Horrible robbery that was, Ortiz deserved it).

Now with Berto, Ortiz managed to go toe to toe and the difference between the Maidana fight and Berto fight is that it was Berto who could not handle the pressure. Berto has heart but he also doubts himself in times of crisis and that creates big opening for his opponents.
Maidana on the other hand will keep going.

So now we have Josesito Lopez. Just like Maidana, he would not quit and he can punch. So as the rounds went by, Josesito kept fighting back harder and harder. Even though he took a lot op punishment he would make sure that he Ortiz got the same.
So in the later rounds we saw Ortiz backing up, something Josesitos trainer mentioned.

And we have the final nail in the coffin, Luiz Collazo. Collazo got one good shot in, and Ortiz looked like he took a knee. In my observation, Ortiz could have easily gotten back up, but his spirit had been shattered.

A while back, Ortiz called all those KO losses flukes. That whit his smiling and easy going attitude after every loss is proof of his weak mental state. I think the right person might have helped him overcome those mental weaknesses but luck was not on his side.

Nature vs nurture and nature made Ortiz a ****ing tree.
