Can BHOP take kovalev's bombs?

You would think that he shouldn't be able to, but I have doubted this guy several times and he has always proved me wrong. God bless him for having the balls to take this fight. I'm from philly and I never liked the guy but you have to give him credit for what he is doing

i see hopkins dominating the latter stages of the fight, knocking kovalev down multiple times

kovalev doesnt have the greatest balance and that will be further compounded when he gets tired

 

just dont say ko, because hopkins dont ko anyone especially at lhw

 

yea i dont see a ko, i think thats sometimes because hopkins acknowledged that he is old and wants to preserve himself,

he has that "keep you off me, keep you honest" type of power

 

Hes got the power left yeh, but he doesnt finish people. The difference could be if hopkins hurt kovalev he probably will survive the other way round and hopkins could be ko'd flat.

 

this is no different than garcia/matthysse...all danny did was use basic footwork and defense to stop matthysse from planting his feet. bhop will do the exact same thing to kovalev.

Kovalev has shown to be the best finisher in the game.
And the hardest puncher Hopkins has faced in any p4p rankings id have kovalev over pavlik trinidad and jones.

 

yea kova punches hard but agnew didnt get ko'ed flat, neither did caparello, the ref waved it off

agnew lasted 7....i see bhop throwing little the first 4 rounds, being 4-0 down and everybody saying "yea he looks his age"

then starting to counter, then throwing more and knocking down kovalev multiple times

 

which fights has a great offence beaten a great defence?

i would always take a great defence

e.g. pernell beat jcc,

however, great defensive fighters like floyd and bhop get caught up in defense, it cost bhop vs dawson , taylor and calzaghe, he made those guys miss but didnt let his hands go enough

 

Well Hopkins is fit and clever to do what you think, he will throw a few curve balls in there. But he cant go 4rounds doing nothing, the worse thing he can do is let sergey find his range. he will need put a good deterrant in straight away and rack up the points. Like leonard vs hagler. If sergey can do more to get back into with desperation it could be a B-hop shut out. But in those first few rounds if he doesnt get the attention of sergey he is going to be krushed.
