Came across his name while looking at Danny Jacobs record. He was doing great and then disappeared. He hasn't fight since 2012.

That fight Pirog had with Jacobs was great. Pirog comes out to an old Black Sabbath song with a robe that does not match his trunks while Jacobs does the whole Urban rap, clad in sports gear thing as he mean mugs with his entourage. Then the skinny, creepy looking, Russian ginger procedes to flatten him in 5..... Now Jacobs and another Murican fraud MW who shamelessly ducked another Russian fighter are getting set to clash and it is being billed as a better fight. I guess getting flattened by a Russian and avoiding another Russian are all one needs to make for a better fight.
Dmitry got blackballed by the old regime at HBO, then got a serious back injury once the new blood came in and wanted to bring him back. Shame how it turned out for him, Pirog had real potential.
The once-every-three-weeks "where is Pirog?" thread. Yay. Retired. Done. Back injuries. And he only ever had two good wins in the first place (Jacobs and Maciel). His H2H and "what if?" qualities are well past simply being overrated here on ESB. Pirog is like the Manuel Charr and Ali Raymi of ESB.
