He's still the same fighter who got his ass handed to him by Maidana. Still far too immobile, defense still just an incomplete shoulder roll, mixed with a peekaboo guard when under pressure. Still doesn't know how to clinch, just stands there with his guard up taking shots. If he does fight Matthysse he'll get KO'ed.
It was more like a Malignaggi blueprint. Malignaggi was the first guy to expose all his bad habits. Despite being a featherfisted gatekeeper, he was making Broner cover up or stop him from throwing just by throwing punches in bunches. If only he had power. Maidana took Malignaggi's blueprint and exposed Broner for what he is. A flat-footed fighter with a bad habit of covering up when the other guy is throwing. On Saturday night, he's the same fighter. Nothing has changed. He'll lose to any pressure fighter with decent skills and power.
Its got more closed with the double arm block ,i liked him doing the shoulder roll where he got hit allot more. Copy someone elsers style isn't you own natural ability
In fact, sometime the feather-fisted Taylor managed to put some damage to Broner, as Adrien tried to demonstate his so-called profound defence skills. Adrien is not supposed to be a defence fighter. Only if he puts pressure on his opponents, consistenly throwing a lot of punches, he may be a "Problem" for A-rank fighters. At least he has chin for it and I think won't get knocked out with Mathisse early in the fight.
Facing fighters his size or larger than him isn't helping any. He dominated guys at smaller weights but 140 and above is showing who he really is.
I believe it, especially the way Broner leaves his mouth open the whole time after the 4th round in most fights.
