Nobody can say that the Khan knockout was lucky That punch was whistling past khan's head all fight before it finally detonated
Why did people want to see ward vs Gatti 2 then? Matthysse vs Garcia was a great competitive fight in which we were left with some unanswered questions due to the eye closing, I think a better question is why wouldn't you want to see them do it again?...
Lucas should be in the news begging for rematches against Judah and Alexander. Guys in which the fights were questionable, not against a guy that shut his eye and dropped him.
as a boxing fan would you rather see garcia continue with the likes of salka or herrera or rematch matthyse?? sure he beat him but it was a good fight and if hes stayin at 140 who really is a bigger fight then lucas? unless its broner or pac next, garcia should really fight matthyse as hes the best fight out there for him with him being the lineal champ of the division
Peterson, then Broner. I know Peterson is nothing special, but most people on here would jump at the chance if the fight didnt happen, they would claim Garcia ducked Peterson.
No one is asking him to avenge wins. And he earnt those wins fairly in my book. But he has taken tremendous steps back in his last 2 fights- Herrera was a stay busy fight that backfired, and Salka should not have even been sanctioned, in fact the alphabet orgs wouldn't let their titles be in play. Khan could have been granted a rematch.... the fight was going Khan's way until Garcia landed the bomb on him. I could see how a rematch might not happen in this case though. Matthysse warranted a rematch. It was a tough, close fight with a few odd occurrences that may have affected the outcome of the fight. Garcia won it fair and square, and it was a damned good fight that the fans want to see again. I think what bothers people is that Garcia doesn't seem to have the confidence in himself to be able to do these things again, and that could be fueling the calls of him being "lucky". One or both of these rematches may end up happening down the road, but the damage is done. he is now looking like a guy who is avoiding challenges, despite having an excellent resume for a young fighter.
