this guy is crazy bitter when ever Ward is mentioned, he discredits facts beuase they dont support his argument, does he not realise that Ward was also using that tournament as a warm up

he also fails to realise that Ward was extremely unlucky to not get that decision against Benchabla as he was fighting away from home, also the referee was the same nationality as Benchabla. Also Ward was 18 years old and not in shape for that fight, Benchabla was in his mid 20's. Id also point out that the weight limit for that fight was 85kg but ward had the national finals a week later at 81kg so he also was given up a lot of weight

Ward beat Mekhontsev easily when he was 17 and Mekhontsev was 27 so i can only imagine the beating he would give him when his not a child, unforunetly this guys nationalistic bias is clouding his judgement

Joe Ward was great as a kid, a stellar youth amateur .... any news on what he's doing with himself now?

I'm sure some of you have probably seen this as it was posted on another forum yesterday, but for those of you who haven't it's a very brief clip of one of the KDs from Mekhontsev's third pro fight (the one that I can't find a copy of anywhere).

So apparently i lack objectivity because of nationialistic bias (even though i'm not Russian) and in the next breathe you claim Ward was robbed against Benchabla. No, you see footage for that fight actually exists so you can't just say whatever you want about it Benchabla won three rounds and Ward looked like a sloppy drunk brawler. Also the ref doesn't score rounds and she didn't help Benchabla out any, unlike UK refs.

I shouldn't be wasting my time coversing with Alts i should know better.

I just watched Peraza clowning Joe, I kinda remember Joe being a solid Jr am, and his record speaks for itself, but I ain't so sure now.

As a pro? Let's wait an' see.

This times 100.....I believe the actual score was 19-14 for Ward and it was a very close fight....The Irishman is speaking out of his leprechaun ass...

Ward is going to be another UK Isle bum...Just wait and see :)

I've seen Ward live & wasn't all that impressed tbh. Like most travellers he doesn't live the lifestyle in between fights & there are plenty of rumours about his lack of dedication in training. He's a talented lad but I don't think he'll set the world on fire when he turns pro.

Mekhontsev is very well rounded with no glaring weaknesses bar the obvious unknowns in novice pros. Once him & Beterbiev get to world level the LHW division will be hot.

Gvozdyk will be the best of the bunch imo

    This may be an issue.

Seems to have all the talent in the world(He was beating Olympic silver medallists at 17)

But his dedication or "professionalism" wouldnt appear to be suspect.
Of course,Im just going on hear say.

Peraza threw the occasional jab and legged it for the whole fight, in fairness he made lara look like a face first brawler
