Ward, until he dips out with inactivity, then it'd be Pacquiao

Haha, Andre Ward....who? the commentator guy?

It would have to be vacant if not Floyd. Ward isn't active and Pacquiao has done nothing of note and his next opposition excludes him from being number 1.

I don't see Floyd losing, at least not by decision.

No way Floyd loses a decision in Vegas.

They said the same thing about Oscar when he fought Trinidad.

    It happened

I can see Floyd robbed close to his end.

What would boxing gain from him going undefeated? Nothing

If they rob him or get someone to beat him in a decision, that fighter gets that big recognition.

Basically, no chance Mayweather loses. But if he gets accidentilly dropped, we will see the third fight in spring. So whatever happens, he stays #1.

I have seen Floyd training and never seen him look this sharp for a long time i just don't see how Maidana could win.

Then they could use that to market a rubber match between Floyd and Maidana.

Let's be real though. IF Maidana wins tomorrow, it's because Floyd got old. Prime Floyd doesn't lose a round against Maidana.

A old Floyd would still whoop Maidana.

    1) What would boxing gain from him going defeated? Just another record of the fighter who ended his carrier with a loss. No history created.

    2) Does Maidana deserve this kind of recognition?

Yup, it's father time that's going to beat Floyd. No fighter in this era stands a chance against a prime Floyd.
