Chavez fights at 168-pounds and Canelo is a 154-pounder who may go to middleweight in the very near future. Although Chavez claims he can still make the middleweight limit of 160-pounds, there are very few who believe that he can. Besides the issue of weight, Chavez has been fighting with his promoter, Top Rank, for several months. "For next year, we are looking for Canelo to face Miguel Cotto, but we would also want to do the fight between Chavez Jr. and Saul. It would be great for boxing. Chavez at 159lbs seems absurd. Can you imagine how scary he'll look at the weigh in? Canelo should definitely move up now, there's nothing left for him at 160lbs and I'm not happy with a 154lber hydrating to 172lbs.
Dude's not making 159 unless he gets a Pistoriectomy and both of his legs are replaced by blades. Maybe his arms, too.
