Anybody got any idea how the tickets have been selling for the Groves fight this weekend? It would be interesting to know how big a draw he is after the Froch fights.
Well this event is kind of being sold off the back of him alone (hardly a strong undercard), not going in against a 'big name' and him coming off the back of 2 losses. As far as I know it's not a sellout, but a good load have been shifted. I'm gutted I can't be there backing him this weekend due to other plans but have a few mates going, fancy him to knock Rebrasse out inside 6 rounds. Wembley arena's one of the best venues for boxing in the country if you ask me, if people don't have other plans for Saturday they should make there way down there for it.
Yeah I was hoping I would be able to but cash is a bit short at the minute. Don't think it is worth paying £40 for a bad view when I could see it at home.
Just seen a tweet by Groves offering 2 free seats in a competition - I'd guess that sales aren't as good as hoped!
I think its pretty standard practice to keep some tickets back for competition. Had a look at the official ticket site earlier and it looks like most have gone but plenty are floating around on secondary sites like stub hub via go go etc. Don't have much experience in this, but do events like this have touts floating around outside even though its not sold out? Don't live to far away but was thinking of maybe seeing if i could get some cut price ones. Never been to a boxing show before, never really saw the point unless you splashed near £100 on seats relatively close to the action.
Some places like the echo arena are pretty good for boxing, upper tier at the front can give you a decent view of the fight esp compared to manchester arena.
The promotions been a disaster from the start only a hand full of tickets have been sold a large section has been sealed off know a bird who works in box-office she gave me the heads up.
To be fair, if they've done 5/6K, that's not bad at all in this day and age - and in London. I'd could only think of Froch and Frampton who'd do more than that. Maybe Brook in Sheffield? Looked like there were more empty seats than humans at the Quigg show just gone.
