Where does Maidana go if/when he loses to Floyd?

The fight with Mayweather gave Maidana a lot of exposure, and he made a lot of the opportunity. He gave Floyd his hardest fight in a long time. Not like other fighters who get a big exposure fight and perform poorly.

Unless he gives a really bad performance in September that somehow ruins his marketability, Maidana will probably be able to get fights with a lot of the name fighters at 140-147.

 

Depends if he's going to go far enough to dump Golden Boy to make it happen.

wins these - Porter/Brook, Thurman, Pac, Garcia

They'll all be gunning for him.

I see a healthy bank balance in Maidana's future.

By the time Mayweather & Company are through with Maidana he will have lost but will have enough money for he and his children's children's children to live life large and wealthy in Argentina.

What I mean is, don't be too sure that Mayweather & Company have decided that this is the last fight between them. The plan could have Maidana winning by decision and a third fight scheduled for next year.
I expect this rematch to do much better numbers than the first match, and if Maidana magically defeated Mayweather in the rematch and there were a third instalment, it definitely would do much higher numbers than the rematch. With mayweather's PPV deal, he could earn upwards of $50+M for the rematch and +60-80M for a trilogy match.

Remember, Floyd wants to earn the title of TBE and the only way to do that is to create an opponent. While Maidana is definitely no Joe Frazier, neither are today's boxing fans as hardcore and intelligent as the fans of Frazier's past era.
So, it is very possible that MP, Inc. has planned a long term trilogy of this match-up.

Hopefully, we finally get Maidana vs. Matthysse (I wish Matthysse had some WW experience, but I'll take what I can get).

Maidana vs. Guerrero is a match I wish badly didn't get cancelled years ago. Would still like to see it.

Maidana is always in great fights, so any top 10 WW would be great.

 

If history is any indication, he'll make out just fine. Look at what Guerrero did after losing to Mayweather. He made $1 million fighting an opponent that hardly anyone knew. Being with Al Haymon means never being fully out of options. Look at Josesito Lopez.
