Im the guy that found Jeanette-Langford and the guy who paid to have it salvaged otherwise it would have deteriorated just like the Langford-McVey fight did and the Carpentier-Gunther fight and the Jeanette-McVey fight. If I did say it didnt exist it was probably because at that point nobody but myself and three other people (who helped with expenses) knew about it. I didnt want to come out and say it existed and have a run of people begging me for it (which is what ended up happening anyway when it came out). So yeah, I have denied it. But, I also know more about boxing films and collecting than you and have REPUTABLE contacts that I maintain an excellent reciprocal relationship with. You are not reputable which means you being the only person to claim it exists means nothing to me. Like some of your other claims on here you have been wholly unable to back that up. Being that someone like yourself who knows nothing about the subject claims it exists Im pretty safe in continuing to adhere to my own research which tells me it has not surfaced as of yet. To you or anyone else. Id be happy to be proven incorrect. Youve been caught completely fabricated information so many times your word means less than nothing to me.
That's something I didn't know. Is that also the case with Maxie Rosenbloom, apart from him playing a boxer in movies? I wonder when Mendoza will show us Langford v Hague:think
Yes. I know of at least 3 fights of Rosenbloom that were filmed and none are known to exist. Those might be found someday though. I would place those in the category of films that are highly possible to exist.
No he does not. My point that people who have films often deny they exists was proven true. Sometime there is a no trade and confirmation of existence clause. As such, I would take what Klompton says with a grain of salt in terms of what may be out there. I also asked who these reputable dealers are, and he refuses to name them. Ill remain pragmatic about him. He can add to the board. He has burned a few bridges over the years. Someday one of those brunt bridges might have something he wants.
Then by all means, prove me wrong and post proof of Langford-Hague existing. LOL. Youve had years now to do so and cant come up with anything. Who I do business with is none of your business. I havent burned any bridges that matter and I have enough in my collection that if there is anything I want I can make it worth anyones trouble. Irregardless you hardly know any of the details of any of the bridges Ive "burned." As usual you are talking out of your ass without any substance to back it up.
You are the guy who was anti posting anything rare of yours and still won't even mention a name of a reputable source that you trade with. A clear case of the pot calling the kettle black. In addition you lie about what you have and don't To clarify, I have seen 2 rounds of Hague vs. Langford including a very brutal KO. To say I hardly know the details of the bridges you have burned indicates I know something. To keep it short, you have a rep for being very Bill Clayton like and hard to get along with in some circles.
I happen to admire Bill Cayton on many levels. But, if you wish to prove me wrong, by all means post a screenshot of Langford-Hague. You cant and wont. When you do that I'll post copies of my itemized reciepts, with dates, for the work I paid to have done on Langford-Jeanette, which predate any mention of that fight being known to exist (including my denial of it) by years. Thats the difference between you and me. I can back up what I say or I wouldnt say it. You just bull**** and hope nobody calls you out on it. The people who I supposedly "burned bridges" with should keep in mind that there are two sides to every story. Like the Spaniard who wanted to extort more films from me by threatening to release what I gave him (and eventually did release it... I dont negotiate with terrorists). Or the guy who wanted to trade with me for rare footage but sent me youtube captures in return (which promptly ended up in the trash). Or the numerous guys who promised not to release what I traded to them but within weeks it showed up on trading lists. Those guys get pissed off when I cut them off and say Im hard to deal with or that I "burned bridges" you tell me who burned bridges? Or there are the guys like Noltimier who lie about what they have, what they are sending, or send incomplete orders to force you to buy/trade again. Yeah Ive burned those bridges too. To a man every person who has dealt honorably with me still has a good working relationship with me. Those that dont I care little to hear from again. Two sides to every story.
I have a question for Klompton, who obviously has quite a lot of rare footage available. Are there many/any films out there (rare) that you know exist, know who has them and want them, but cant get copies of those fights? Or do you pretty much have copies of most of the known available fights that are going around. I dont ask for any reason, i am just wondering, because it does seem to me that you have most of what exists and what you dont have you seem to have got to the point where you dont think it exists anyway.
Thats an interesting question. Stuff pops up on a semi regular basis. When something pops up that I dont already have (Im talking rare films here, not a Terry Norris fight) I track it down and acquire it. Luckily Ive been pretty successful at this. There are some fights out there that I know for a fact exist but that I havent acquired yet, for one reason or another, but feel confident that I will. I have always felt that knowing something exists is half the battle. I havent really run into a situation yet where I know something exists and simply cannot get ahold of it. Everything eventually has its price. I have been frustrated several times to find a film (Langford-McVey and Carpentier-Gunther come to mind) that were deteriorated before I could get to them and have possibly been lost to history.
You say, there are some fights out there that you know exist, that aren't in your possession... but which you are sure will be one day. Now I know we're talking old, rare fights here... but does this mean, that you own just about every fight film known to exist, say, pre-WW2?
To clarify again, I don't own Langford vs. Hague, but I have seen it. It exists, and is rather clear. Many old films have no ownership rights. You have burned more bridges than you care to admit and you have a temper that doesn't exactly win friends or influence people. Yes there are two sides to every story. Lucky for you those you threw under the bus do not post here otherwise we would see the other side of the coin and you'd be very busy. If a Greb film ever surfaces, you'd better hope your in good graces with the owner as there are quite a few out there that won't trade it to you. Kurt N is a bit expensive, and like most collectors fibs too. He should take down his Greb vs Dempsey sparring.
