 that's what he said when he signed him I remember.. he also said...

“I’ve known Martin for a few years now and every time I’ve seen him in the gym he has left me mesmerised,” said Hearn. “At 20 years of age, Martin already had bags of experience and is in my opinion one of the most exceptional talents this country has ever produced. Martin will be out a minimum of seven times a year and we will be putting all our resources into ensuring he reaches his full potential.”

Ward was a top amateur, has a lot of talent.
Don't even think he's lost a round so far as a pro, he needs to step it up now ... ..

deserves to be showcased on sky more..
The likes of Gamal Yafai and Scotty Cardle are getting their fights shown, but Ward isn't... doesn't make any sense.... he's one of matchroom's best prospects..

    He's decent, but yeah...

Eddie also backed Audley Harrison to beat David Haye remember. He says dumb ****. He's a promoter.

Yea I'm sure he didn't really believe Harrison would beat Haye

He just saw the marketability in him when others did not and development a plan to get him back to the title challenge level via Prize Fighter

He used him to make some high profile fights and get the British boxing scene buzzing again (which he did care of the Haye fight and all the hype that came with it)

He just said what he needed to to do his part in selling the fight, which as you say is his job as a promoter

Same can be said about his Ward comments - he needs to promote him, doing so means talking him up

Elite fighters don't lose or draw to the likes of Ian Baileys ,think Wards campaigning at S/feather now

You realise that there's a world beyond boxrec right? I mean, you can actually follow the sport if you like, not just look up results. The Bailey fight was a technical draw after a class of heads about 1 minute in....

That's about as stupid as saying "Kovalev isn't all that, he has a draw against 8-13-1 Grover Young". Circumstances and rules in effect might cause this to happen.

But ward really needs to step it up... try out an opponent at top 10/15 domestic class for a change.
