PPV is a big farce.

Froch v Groves II, I can understand that fight with it being an event of such magnitude being PPV likewise Hatton v Mayweather & Pacquaio.

But for Clev v Bellew, how does that warrant PPV???

Matchroom aren't all to blame either, was only 3 years ago W@rren had Degale v Groves on PPV (yeah a grudge match... but a British title fight!!!!) on PPV.

Conning the fans.

 

Froch/Kessler wasn't on Channel Five (it was before the Hennessey deal in 2011) and Hatton/Tsysu was on Box Office.

If Sky are calling the shots they need to be careful with what is deemed PPV worthy and what is not. Having a quota of two cards a year that have to be on PPV is a short sighted strategy in my opinion.

Froch v Groves was at least a world title fight and it had huge interest, don't really see this as the issue that broke the camels back

 

at least it is a 50-50 fight though.

However, Hearn is ruining boxing

 

I was suprised and even thought it seemed way too small for ppv especially now that ppv is normally only for the biggest fights

But in Hearns defense it is shaping up to be a decent bill which maybe and i do me MAYBE warrants a ppv

But for me it still needs some more depth to the card.

 

How? Please explain

Quigg Vs 34 year old Agbeko who has lost 4 of his last 6?

Joshua Vs 39 year old Sprott who was blitzed in 1 round in his last fight?

Callum Smith Vs 36 year old feather fisted Sjekloca?

McDonnell Vs 33 year old Walberto Ramos whos been beaten 6 times and whos world ranking probably looks like my mobile number?

Agree! The undercard really isn't that good ESPECIALLY for a PPV with a poor main event.

This is blatant corporate financial greed and this is indeed the tip of the iceberg in terms of what constitutes future Box Office events.

If you love boxing, don't line the pockets of Sky's execs by purchasing this event.

 

Can see it doing poor numbers back to one ppl a year can't see it sellin well they rnt best known and clev doesn't hav any sort fan base as others hav posted undercard is very poor Hearn can sell it as having 2world titles on line but fighting guys well past it. Apart from main event all others are 90-10 favs b boring

 

You'll see I put it needs more depth.

But a bill with quigg McDonnell joshua and smith is never what you would call a poor bill.

Granted the opposition isn't fantastic in some respect but we get to see 2 world title fights 2 prospects steeping up a bit and a huge grudge match.

Like I said it needs a little more depth and may not be ppv worthy but you can't really say it's an awful bill

 

I wish it wasn't on ppv but at the end of the day a percentage of that money goes to the fighters which we should be happy about, plus hopefully a lot of it gets re invested into making big fights.

On face value yeah I wish I didn't have to pay for it as it's not ppv worthy, but on the other hand hopefully some good comes of it. Maybe I'm just in too much of a positive mood today...

Depth meaning? more one sided fights?

Nothing personal to you mate, I can assume you are staying positive about the event, I wish I could be more positive.

I'm just curious how anybody would be remotely happy watching an undercard full of one sided fights and paying £15 for the privilege.

Cleverly Vs Bellew is a non title fight between two boxers brutally exposed at world level. I am genuinely disgusted it is a PPV event.

 

Don't blame a private sector organisation for trying to turn a profit where there's demand...Blame the numptys who will pay for the fight.

PPV is necessary for the right fights as the revenue needs to come from somewhere. This fight isn't it.
