exactly not even british champ(ano his brother is and they dont want to fight each other) but goin on as if he is world class i like guy but very hyped he has fought no 1 exact same as a certain mr eubank
He's doing what he needs to. Winning and winning well. We just have to see what he develops like when he faces too opposition. His opponents have been pretty good for his fist 14 fights but he's not fighting anywhere near world level yet so we'll see what happens over his next 5 or 6 fights. Over all I'm fairly impressed and looking forward to see him in with top 20-30 ranked fighters.
Winning and wining well, learning anything? Probably not, preparing him to face tougher opposition, probably not!
I do think his progress has stuttered a bit in the last 12 months which is frustrating. His opposition since Vladine Biosse has really annoyed me tbh, especially that completely pointless fight in America. This weekends fight was more understandable. Paul has just been in the fight of his career so I imagine Callum has been helping out and will have gained a lot of good experience from the camp. I'm looking forward to the Sejolka fight and think this is the level be should be fighting at. Rather than rushing him to be the mandatory for the WBC he should be focused on experience.
He'll be learning plenty, developing him self in the gym and building up a decent record. Getting out fighting on good bills, taking on different styles, ironingout flaws and gaining confidence. Trust me callum smith is exactly where he needs to be right now.
He's fighting oap midgets and people he 100% supposed to beating. I predict another over rated scouser..
Trust you! lol ok. I wouldn't have thought he learnt anything on Sat night and as fan I hate seeing pointless fights and that was definately one.
Carl Froch and David Brophy. Was even Froch chief sparring partner whilst still in the amateurs. Froch always says he holds his own with him, and always said even before Groves fights that he handled Groves easy but not Callum. Callum used to spar with Bellew when he was a LHW, not sure about now though
He will have a had world class sparring in camp with Paul Smith as well which does make you think he's got some gears he hasn't shown yet.
