Does anyone take into account in the Pascal fight that it was stopped due to a cut ? He had Pascal on ***** Street and for some reason people tend to forget that !

    No.

    Not even close.

Dawson has the W's over Adamek, Johnson, Tarver and *Hopkins*.

Who in the hell has Cleverly ever beaten?

Lost his MOJO. His confidence is shot therefore his training and preparation isn't adequate for coming to the ring ready even at this level. It's sad. He should've stuck with Mayweather Sr.

Watching him get completely f*cking flattened and humiliated by Stevenson was great. The only time he didn't immediately throw out a million excuses and reasons why it's not his fault that he lost and he should get a DQ win and all that dumb ****. Even that time it wasn't his fault, he injured his shoulders, judges were against him, he should've won, blah blah blah. I hope this clown retires ASAP, what a scumbag.

Dawson basically popped up in the right place at the right time. He was able to get a lot of mileage off beating a drained Adamek and old names when light heavyweight was in a state of transition.

175 has gotten better since then, and he's been passed. It's shown by his lackluster showings against his peers. He shouldn't have gotten outboxed by Pascal, and a guy like Cleverly would've beaten him.

Still, I didn't expect this much of a drop off, this quick. I hope he retires for his sake. I know he was between a rock and a hard place business-wise and he probably needs the money, unfortunately, so chances are we'll see a couple more nights like this.....but I'd rather not see it.

He acted like a spoiled child :|:| Karpency deserved the win. That "injured shoulder" didn't stop him trying to body slam Karpency TWICE a la Hopkins
did it? Stick a fork in him he's done

Remember Shumenov and Braehmer were the ones who backed out of Cleverly. Still in answer

Cleverly beats undefeated top 10 LHW Murat inside the distance, who went on to push Hopkins to points in a tough fight

Cleverly beats undefeated top 10 LHW Bellew, who went on to beat top 10 rated comp and go on to challenge for a title

Cleverly beats Mohammedi who is now looking in line for a title shot

Cleverly beats Kuziemski in 4 rounds who after was a good enough opponent for Pascal and took Pascal the distance

Cleverly beats Krasniqi whos not been beaten since

Cleverly beats Karpency by complete shut out who goes on to beat C Dawson

With the names you note for Dawson, you fail to note Adamek was not impressive at LHW and the others
Dawson looked good as he was a young fighter fighting ageing fighters. Look at the age of many of his opponents and remember some of these were a few years ago and that Dawson was younger than he is now

    Hopkins 47
    Hopkins 46

    Diaconu 32
    Pascal (he lost)
    Johnson 40
    Tarver 40
    Tarver 39
    Johnson 39

When he fought a younger prime fighter, who I dont think would have been a top LHW a few years ago he was beaten. Many fighters look impressive against older fighters and I cant see why nobody else noticed the difference in his age to his opposition.

it was sad wacthing the fight last night. i wanted dawson to win soo bad but he looked horrible round after round even before he hurt his left sholder or hand. and then he explodes on the post fight interview like he really won and got robbed. Sorry he did not win. not even close. i dont think showtime wants him back after being like that and performing the way he did. Best of luck to him.
sad to watch one of my fave boxers end like this. on a good note hes back inshape atleast?...

    Good post Bailey.

Dawson was always B level. Like you said, he best wins are vs guys who were well past it, faded, or losing their legs.

The Hopkins fights were both solid wins, but only because BHop has excellent personal trainers and physicians keeping his testosterone levels just under USADA recognizable levels, but still 5X higher than a 2.5 yo Thoroughbred. Without the roids, BHop woulda been starched 10 yrs ago, and no one would be praising Dawson for his great resume.:nono

In a word, yes. Andre Ward took Dawson's boxing soul and Stevenson merely put the corpse out of its misery. Dawson was always a bit flawed to begin with, but after being dominated by Ward (I don't care who you are, when you look at the referee and verbally quit, you can never take that back), plus getting knocked into next week by Stevenson, Dawson will likely never get back to where he was. I believe his time is over.

I thought Pascal showed that Dawson was fairly slow and didn't have that great of a defense. He put the blue print.

If Hopkins beat him it wouldn't be significant given his decline. That speaks volumes itself.
