    it's not about finding him exciting. it's like watching a game of chess....or like watching a surgeon perform surgery. the skill and intelligence under pressure is amazing.

    Sports fans are in it to be entertained.. Watching a surgeon perform surgery can be amusing but it's far from exciting..

    Hopkins throws one punch and falls into a clinch.. repeat..

    to the casual fan, complex things can be very easily missed. bhop does do somethings that can be simple...like the punch/clinch move you're talking about...but he does so much more than that as well. if your attention span is short...i get it. face first brawlers with little or no defense is your thing...so be it.

    Look kiddo, Ive been into boxing when you were swimming inside your daddy's balls so please get outa here with all that " to the casual fan " nonsense.

    I understand what Bernard does and while it may be effective, it's not TV friendly that's all im saying..

    Im not into brawlers.. I prefer boxer-punchers such as Marquez, Linares, Roman Gonzalez.. GUys who are versatile..

    I find Hopkins boring because he stalls the action too much... I can't remember the last time he's been in a sustained, mid-range boxing action without all that grappling, hugging.. ..

    He fights like a hoe.. Hopkins from the 90s was pretty cool thoiugh...

    I find it hilarious how some foos love to pull rank with this style **** as if it takes a superior boxing fan to appreciate Hopkins..

    Im a hardcore boxing junkie and it this isn't rocket science.. Hopkins is ****in boring..

    i doubt you've been watching boxing much longer than me...but ok.

    bhop has adjusted to his capabilities throughout the years. i wasn't always a fan. in fact, i never liked his bull**** ass dirty fighting and i thought he had ***** in him in a few fights. (*see bhop/allen 1, bhop/dawson 1&2) i've watched him since the beginning. what he did to tito trinidad was on point. he called it exactly. that made me a fan...but i have to admit that i've become a bigger fan late in his career. his wins over pascal and cloud, at this stage, are nothing short of amazing. he's making history right before our eyes. a hoe wouldn't get in the ring with kovalev. he fights within his capabilities. at 50yrs old...most men who box are more than a decade removed from their careers. the **** is impressive.

    Fair enough.. As I stated earlier, I enjoyed watching the young bernard and I understand that he had to adopt a new style at an old age but that still doesn't change the fact that he's boring 95% of the times..

    The fight against Tito was probably his last fight where I was in awe and I enjoyed him beating Joppy into an elephant man but most of his other fights were dreadful..

    At this point, only thing i admire about him is his work ethic and dedication but Im not jumping up and down for his next fight...

    I just find his excessive clinching style to be very unwatchable..

    I find BHop fun to watch, there is something a little extra fun to watch about him than say Rigo or Lara. He seems to truly enjoy toying with opponents.

    Lol. I respect his champion spirit for always taking on challenges but his style shouldn't even be legal. Clinches way too ****in much. That aint boxing.

    It's that positioning he does to spoil your angle every time you (the opponent) should be throwing. And when he comes in he throws the punches with a body twist into a kind of forward-traveling shell defense so if you're punching with him you still don't have a clear shot. Then he does the Duran-type thing, drag and pin you inside so he can chop at you and break you down over time.

    Those things ARE exciting if you like watching someone who has the game down pat at absolutely frustrating his opponent from making any headway, grinding down the man's motivation and energy by chipping away at him relentlessly round by round.

    Rigo enjoys doing it well and hes got catlike reflexes and decent power.
    prefer rigo to borenard anyday.
