Found Blackburn's Quote re Johnson v Louis

Blackburn said Johnson was in the gym with a couple of "ladies" and wanted a sparring partner so he could show off a bit,none volunteered so Blackburn went in with him.
Blackburn was tall for his weight about 5'10" but really only a lightweight, he said he embarrassed Johnson with his speed and evasiveness, even bloodying his nose.Johnson was not one to forget a slight.
Years later, after Blackburn got out of jail for murder they passed the hat round among the fight fraternity to give him a start.Johnson refused to contribute and loudly slagged off Blackburn,they basically hated one another.

 

Back this morning,I was in London with a friend yesterday listening to Jazz at the" Spice Of Life" in Cambridge Circus,and partaking of a few cancerous pints of real ale.
