Is anything that sells the most the best? The Sun the best paper? The song at number 1 the best song?
But there are two factors at play here: - Best card of the year - Best promoter in the country With those two combined how can an event sell as badly as this has? Don't get me wrong, you make valid points, but if this event is struggling, who is to blame?
It is a good card, so props to ***** on this one, I've got tickets for it... only thing that lets it down is it being at the ExCel arena, I'm not a fan of the place, was last there for the Purdy v Bundu / Kevin Mitchell bill last year.
Don't you think Matchroom getting the Sky Sports deal + Eddie using social media as a way of drumming up interest is good promoting... ?
Apparently 13k tickets have been sold for this according to Frank as the capacity is being expended to 20k. Is that possible?
Its like people have already said, its because of the risk of one of the boxers pulling out...............id imagine that with two weeks to go and all being well, the remaining tickets will be sold.
As the above poster said if the card stays together I will buy tickets in the week leading upto the event - it will be a sell out. And frank W pound for pound is still the champion.
Compared to dinosaurs like ******? Absolutely! But it's UFC lite really. Everything from calling cards stacked at the drop of a hat to creating Fight Pass.
