Feelings on Eddie Hearn

Started off well, lost his way a little recently with too many poor PPVs.

 

Thought really highly of him until this PPV bs. Seems like he is showing his true colours now

 

Just the same as any other promoter, no better, no worse.

 

I think he gets too much attention.

 

It's all about him.

The PPV issue is going to infuriate the fans if they take place more than twice a year given the price of Sky Sports on it's own.

I think the honeymoon period for Hearn is well and truly over.

 

I really liked what Hearn when he burst on the scene and I thought he earned his Sky deal. That said, the last six months have been a massive disappointment....his denial about the quality of the Bellew/Clev PPV has been pathetic. Needs to get real.

 

Hope he dont keep up with mediocre ppvs but at least his fighters dont have to worry about being paid

Or to put it another way he's the same old **** but a younger internet friendly version that tweets too. He also has the advantage of not having any of the baggage the older promoters have, that might be a different story 5 or 10 years from now though.

He also had the good fortune of starting from a successful platform like Matchroom with the infrastructure, fanbase and Sky television deal already in place for Darts, Snooker, Football and Boxing.

With all that, i think anyone could succeed if they had decent business acumen and knew how to talk the kind of bull**** the masses like.

The test for Eddie is whether he can take a boxer from their debut all the way to a World title like other British promoters have done many times before. I'm going to discount the Olympic Gold medalists as it hardly takes rocket science to move them successfully.

Will Eddie still be in Boxing 10 years from now? I have my doubts. The simple fact is that all the BIG FIGHTS on Sky will be PPV in the future and i'm talking about any World Title fights involving Froch, Brook, Joshua, Luke Campbell, Scott Quigg(if he fights Frampton), Winner of Cleverley-Bellew and James Degale.

So that could be an extra £17 x 6 to 8 PPV's a year for the Best fights on Sky on top of what you're already paying for Sky Sports.

 

He's done a great job with what he's done and he's Got a great stable now but really needs to be careful that he doesn't ruin it now with unworthy ppv's....I can understand froch being ppv but not bellew vs cleverly even if I like the fight no nay never!

 

Been a breath of fresh air for British Boxing but I think he's a bit of a bellend. He's tsking the **** a bit now with the PPV's too.

 

Over estimates British fighter quality..
