I actually agree. I think he's great for british boxing.

The main thing he's done is get rid of small hall shows from Sky and replace them with bigger events.

He's ond of the best promoters in the world right now. Not just because he can make big fights but he guides his fighters well.

I think the 'guides fighters well' point is still debatable. I don't think he's necessarily doing a bad job with the likes of Campbell, Smith and Joshua, but I wouldn't pat him on the back too much until he's guided someone from prospect to world title. He's got first choice of everyone turning over and the resources of Sky behind him to hand pick opponents to move them through, so there's no reason why he shouldn't be doing that regularly from this point on given he's been up and running for a few years now.

People are on his back for a reason. The quality of shows has generally become average now. Just cards full of showcase fights and this PPV is a disgrace. How the hell is that a PPV card. He deserves criticism

I understand what you mean about his resource and tv but he didn't just get handed those. He develop matchroom and his stable and negotiated the tv deal. Only and good promoter could do that.

What did he get? From what i read it wasnt a very good payday really, especially for a fight rose didn't have a prayer of winning.

    What other fights were there?

None at world level that would have been available, any that were would have been lesser pay days.

Why keep fighting at Euro level?

End of the day he decided to take the fight. He didn't have to. He chose to. He got decent money and s shot at the title.

Hearn seemed to think rose actually had a chance in that fight. If he honestly believed that then he knows nothing about boxing. But I actually think he does know a bit, and the reality is hearn is just an egotistical, greedy wanker who couldn't care less about the fighters or the fans.

Eddie Hearn obviously bullshits a lot (this PPV being good value for money being a prime example and his stance on Quigg vs Frampton being another, I don't think he'd be happy with a 50/50 split if he were Frampton's promoter and he'd be calling Quigg's 'World Title' a joke. He also must realise he's been totally upstaged by the other card in November now.). But that is essentially a key part of his job, to bull****.

On the other hand he is very open in interviews. He is far far more forward thinking than any promoter out there, with his use of social media and branding his events to appeal as nights out for people rather than a normal boxing or sporting event. He's good at packaging a product and then making us feel like we need it.

I think he's up and down with how he builds and matches fighters. He almost completely ****ed Kell Brook, but it worked out wonderfully in the end. What he's done with Carl Froch has been incredible, Froch is now one of the wealthiest boxers in the world, a multi multi millionaire and a 3 time world champion. It's down to Hearn. Time will tell with the Olympic lads, but I think he'll do a good job building them also..

    Welcome to boxing promoters!!

I do rate Hearn though. Think he's done a good job.

The only negative is that other promoters can't get on sky but with box nation it shouldn't affect it too much

surprising considering the boxing craze in the UK

meanwhile us Americans are paying $65-$75/fight..... which is like £45
