But.. But.. But, skills pay the bills, skills pay the bills. Not Always.

Power isn't the be all, end all and most intelligent fighters know how to take that advantage away, BHop is great at that, but Kovalev needs to be recognized as P4P possibly the hardest puncher in Boxing today, his power is terrifying, even scarier than GGG. He KO's his opponents with light jabs to the stomach, and glancing blows that barely connect. That's almost hard to comprehend. And no amount of skill will keep Kovalev from landing on Bernard the entire fight, and he doesn't need to land clean to KO his opponents.

Now let's take a look at Hopkins past few opponents pre BHop fight.
Shumenov- He'd had 15 matches with 9 KO's, everyone he KO'd was a bum and Beibut struggled everytime he had a decent opponent, He couldn't KO Campillo and should have lost both times. Kovalev destroyed Campillo in 2.5 rounds Fonfara KO'd him as well.
Murat- He'd had 27 matches with 15 KO's 1 KO loss, He was stopped by Cleverly who Kovalev destroyed in 3.5 Rounds, and barely beat Campillo and lost to him once. KO'd nothing but bums.
Cloud- He'd had 24 matches with 19 KO's, he should have had 1 loss since Campillo was robbed, His power largely disappeared when he stepped up his comp, his best KO was Mack in 8 Froch got him out in 3. Cloud very overrated.
Dawson-Had speed but very featherfisted and Hopkins lost to him so its a moot point. Ward of all people stopped him, Hopkins punches didn't faze him.
Pascal-Doesn't have great power 53% KO ratio yet he questionably dropped Hopkins twice. He beat and lost to Hopkins both close fights.

Hopkins' last 3 opponents were cherry picks chosen specifically because their styles played directly to Bernard's strengths, he knew he could easily outsmart them and they didn't have real power that could hurt him.

Sergey Kovalev is 25-0 23 KO's, the only 3 guys to go 7 rounds or beyond were Boone who has a great chin and Kovalev KO'd him in 2 in the rematch.
Roman Simakov went 7 and Died.
Cedric Agnew was a Southpaw that troubled Kovalev, yet Sergey won every round with ease, Agnew ended up with his ribs broken and nose broken.

You all better hope Hopkins gets KO'd quickly because I fear for his health if it goes past 8. Kovalev's power is very real and Hopkins is 50 years old. Add to that, while in no way am I comparing Kovalev to Calzaghe they have one thing in common, they hit their opponents anywhere they can hit them, only Kovalev has KO power in his slaps.

His last few opponents Cleverly, Sillakh, Campillo were all on the same level maybe better than Murat, Shumenov and Cloud. He absolutely destroyed them all is alarming fashion, they couldn't even understand what was happening to them.

Hopkins is great but recently he been taking 3 or 4 rounds to figure out his opponents which is very unfortunate for him, since it takes Kovalev 3 or 4 rounds to stop them.

By the way I'm a big fan of Hopkins.

Why because you think he's like Pavlik, a plodder, well he's not Kovalev will hit Hopkins anywhere he can hit him just like Joe did. he's not a 1,2 type puncher, Also the Pavlik fight was 6 years ago.

WTF is a "Next-Gen PED"? How has the Testosterone molecule evolved over the past 60 years? Perhaps they have isolated a new strain of GH that has evolved.

The stuff people come up with. Not unlike all this mythical hyperbole around Hopkins' magical in ring ability.

    BHOP will be destroyed? Maybe....
50 of fans will look like geniuses & the other half idiots...no matter who wins. But really I think nobody has any clue how this will really turn out.

Well not forget that this is actually a step up for Kovalev as well. Kovalev actually has to pass this step to show us the fans he is actually is elite. So far his opposition is actually lesser than Hopkins and I would fully expect Hopkins to have outboxed all of those opponents.

Hopkins recent opposition may have been paper champions, but they were champions none the less and they had wins over Kovalev's opponents. For example Campillo has losses to both Murat and Shumenov.

Hopkins is very much alive in this fight and he has shown to have the tools to dismantle Kovalev's style many times. Expect Kovalev to look frustrated when the fight gets physical turns into a wrestling match and he is outgunned on the inside. This is a tough challenge for both fighters.

Murat was KO'd by Cleverly who Kovalev KO'd.
Campillo should have won the Murat Shumenov and Cloud fights, have you seen them if not go watch them Campillo is one of the most robbed fighters in Boxing, Kovalev destroyed him.

You're over thinking this, and forgetting "styles".

Also, the fact that only a few guys have gone 7 or more with the green Kovalev is a liability against Hopkins, not a positive.

I'll look more into Campillo. I'm aware of his robbery against Cloud, but he just KO'd by Fonfara as well. The division is shaping up to show there are a strong 4 and everyone else, that's with me considering Fonfara a player. So far the top 3 haven't faced each other so it's just been them chopping down everyone else fairly easily.
