    Best fighter - Yes

    Best champion - No

You cant have two fights seperated by a year - only one against an top level opponent - and spend another year inactive and still be considered the best champion of your division.

This poll is about champions, about belt holders and how they have conducted themselves, not about fighters and how good they are or how much talent they have. While Ward is clearly a better boxer than Froch he is also clearly an inferior champion.

No, because its also the quality of opposition.

In the last three years Froch has fought Bute, Mack, Kessler and Groves twice. Of those fighters Bute was rated second only to Ward, Kessler was rated behind only Ward and Froch, and Groves was a top ten rated fighter who proved himself in the first fight to be a decent contender, Mack was an easy fight.

Abraham, meanwhile, had fought Farias, Wilczewski, Steiglitz three times, Bouadla, Shihepo, Carolis, Siekloca and Smith. Of those opponents only Steiglitz could be considered above domestic level.

    Surprised this is so close.

The question was "who is the best"

    Not "who is more active"

No, the question was/is "who is the best title holder", wich is sighnificantly different as "who is the best"/"who is the best boxer"
A title holder sucks when he doesn't fight, ducks or doesn't fight anyone of note.

Not the way I read it.

I see it as "Who is the best fighter of the current title holders"

In that instance, its Andre Ward.

That's possible too, and in that case you're right.

    1. ward - unified, lineal and undisputed really, great defences.
    2. froch -2nd best with 1 and half titles plus solid defences versus solid opposition
    3. dirrell - major title holder. but nothing done yet with it
4.Abraham - easily the least important, a bit part, part time on-off holder of Calzaghe old meaningless title who can barely manage to defend the least important title even with hometown judges and ref. Credit to Arthur for trying though, 11/10 for that , but like Joe Cal and Sven Ottke before him hes just a glorified eurochamp.

    This poll is a joke.

How is Ward not the #1? :nut

It's the best titleholder, not most active... Which would be Abraham.

There you go again. Your comments would be worth more if you didn't have a problem with British fighters. So if Froch wasn't British you would be giving him more credit. Your opinion is invalid.

    Froch.

He ACTUALLY fights the top fighters in the division contending for his title.

    Ward....BLAH.....Rodriguez in 3 yrs. What a waste.

Dirrel is 50/50 vs Groves, and Abe would get raped if Bute came back.

I'm an American and I voted Froch but I woudnt have if Ward had been fighting legit contenders year after year instead he has t done **** for the division since he beat Froch.
