We saw him shocked in more than one occasion when Chaves-Dias-Soto Karass connected him.

 

Diaz got his attention in the 3rd, but it was a round Thurman still won handily.

JSK went for broke, ate tons of counters, and got pretty much shut out before the stoppage - and yes, managed to connect a bit on Thurman and dissuade him from brawling openly with him.

Chaves stunned him in the seventh when they went to war. Both landed tons of flush shots, actually proving the solidity of their chins.



None of those guys are massive punchers at welterweight, but all their hands are heavy enough. The isolated occasions listed above don't portent anything to worry about with Thurman's punch resistance.

 

Mark my words, when the time comes, he is going to get hit by a 147 power puncher as he is getting KOd.
