Why does RJJJ box in Russia?

For the love of the sport ,I doubt he's broke he gets a good pay check from HBO ...

 

they love him over there. they respect his greatness

 

They tend to like his tiny little head. They just can't get over it.

 

Holyfield i can believe, but Tyson?

 

Holyfield is not even known in Russia (other than boxing fans), and Roy isn't even comparable to Tyson. Even casual people still know Tyson. Not the case with Roy.

No ****. Especially after the comments he's made in the past about his good friend Gerald McClellan and his tragedy.

 

It might be obvious... but how do people know RJJ is broke?

I also often wonder how much cash the likes of Lennox and Naz have left. You'd think they'd be minted having earned (iirc) £100m and £30m respectively. But a few poor decisions and that money rapidly dwindles.

 

I doubt he's really that skint to be honest... not in the same way Holyfield is.

 

RJJ has a tax bill in the millions back from 2010 or so. They had a lien on his house in Florida, check for threads from back then, someone posted a PDF. Apparently he's trying to get fights so he can pay off his debt.

 

Why don't these guys employ an accountant?

 

He should have a fight on HBO again.

That's what I was told, I have never been to Russia myself.

 

Sometimes the guy they employ to manage money steals or gambles it. Felix Trinidad lost around 80 million I think. Oh and not to mention unle Paulie and accountant screwing rocky balboa!
